June 11, 2015 - 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. - Pruning Lessons: Mark Quinn and Noelle Nagel will conduct their annual and very popular discussion and demonstration on "Pruning - What is it and How are You Supposed to do it." You will get to watch the experts prune a Lilac and learn the proper way to do it. We will meet at the Pansy Bed in Highland Park.
June 27, 2015 - 4:00 p.m.. - Iris Friendship Garden: Edna Claunch, Highland Park Conservancy board member and founder of the garden, will lead us in a tour of the garden and of the iris, and will also lead a fascinating discussion of its creation.
September 12, 2015 - 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. - History Tour: Tim O'Connell, Highland Park Conservancy board member, historian, and advocate for Rochester's parks, will lead this tour of the 20th Century addition to the Park. Tim is a well-known expert on the creation of the Parks System and on the development of Highland Park, and will share his knowledge with us. Meet at the Lamberton Conservatory.
September 26, 2015 - 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. - Landscape Architecture Tour: Joanne Beck, Highland Park Conservancy board member, landscape architect, and advocate for Rochester's parks, will lead this tour of the Park's unique landscape design and structure. Meet at the Lamberton Conservatory.
October 10, 2015 - 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. - Tree Tour: Kent Millham, retired horticulturist with the Monroe County Parks Department and expert on Highland Park trees, will be back this year to lead our annual tour that shows off the Park's trees shining in their Fall colors. Cider and donut holes will be served. Meet at the Lamberton Conservatory.
November 7, 2015 - 11:30 a.m. - Tour of the Veterans' Garden: One of the veterans who maintains the Veterans' Garden will lead us on a tour. What better way to honor Veteran's Day! Meet at the Veteran's Memorial parking lot off South Avenue just south of Highland Avenue.
December 2, 2015 - 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.- Annual Holiday Party: Join us for the 7th Annual Holiday Party at the Lamberton Conservatory! We will have refreshments, conversation, and the opportunity to see the Conservatory decked out in all its holiday finery. The Lamberton Conservatory is located at 180 Reservoir Avenue, Rochester.
