Highland Park Tour: a Botanical Oasis in the City–an Introduction!

  • meet at Gatehouse 2 400 Reservoir Avenue Rochester, NY, 14620 United States (map)

Join us for an afternoon walk through the autumn beauty and inspired vision of Frederick Law Olmsted’s Highland Park. As fall settles in, this guided tour will showcase the park’s trees, shrubs, and gardens as they shift into their seasonal hues.

We’ll explore Highland Park’s rich history, thoughtful design, and the landscape elements that make it a living work of art. Learn how Olmsted’s background influenced his visionary layout and purpose for this public space. Along the way, we’ll highlight some of the park’s unique and historic “legacy” and specimen plants that help make Highland Park such a beloved and remarkable place.
