Highland Park is a Rochester treasure: a world-class arboretum and part of one of only four Olmsted-designed park systems in the United States.
Join us for an afternoon walk through Highland Park as autumn gives way to winter. With much of the season's foliage behind us, this tour offers a different perspective on the park's remarkable landscape, history, and the enduring vision of Frederick Law Olmsted.
Along the way, we'll explore Highland Park's thoughtful design, highlighting notable trees, landscape features, and some of the historic "legacy" and specimen plants that contribute to the park's unique character. As the landscape settles into its quieter season, we'll consider how the park's natural beauty and design can be appreciated throughout the year.
This walking tour will last approximately 1.5 hours and will traverse winding paved paths throughout the park. Please note that the tour requires the ability to walk and stand throughout.
