Monroe County’s popular “Movies in the Park” series features October Sky in Highland Bowl, co-sponsored by HPC & Monroe County Parks. Bring your blanket and lawn chairs; come early to picnic and explore the park!

Grab a free bag of popcorn and watch October Sky on the big screen! This inspiring movie is the true story of Homer Hickam, a coal miner's son who was inspired by the first Sputnik launch to take up rocketry against his father's wishes. Movie will begin at dusk, around 8:30 pm. Open captioning will be offered. In the event of inclement weather, Monroe County will post on Facebook. Handicap Parking is available behind the Bowl. Enter the parking lot on Robinson Drive. General parking on Reservoir Ave, Robinson Drive and surrounding streets.
